Bears clip Bobcats

West Lincoln pitcher James Magee fanned 9 batters and walkednone in directing the host Bears to a 4-2 Division 7-1A win overthe Bogue Chitto Bobcats Tuesday night in baseball action. TheBobcats committed 5 errors in the game.
“Both teams played good,” said West Lincoln coach SteveBarrington. “James Magee threw an excellent ball game. We were ableto capitalize on their mistakes and get the win.”
West Lincoln improved to 7-9 overall and 5-4 in division play.Bogue Chitto stands 2-7 in division action and 4-8-1 on theseason.
West Lincoln led 3-0 after three inning when Bogue Chitto scored2 runs in the top of the fifth to cut the deficit to 3-2. In thebottom of the fifth, the Bears added another run to push their leadto 4-2.
“We made contact better on the ball,” said Bogue Chitto coachAdam Moak. “Seth pitched a good game. The errors cost us someruns.”
Magee ripped a solo home run in the third inning for WestLincoln. Brett Rushing doubled.
Bogue Chitto got a pair of doubles from Avants. Nick Noworytadoubled.
Junior varsity action
Bogue Chitto nipped West Lincoln 7-6.
Colton McLendon and Cole Laird doubled for the Bobcats.
Sawyer Pepper singled twice for the Bears.
McLendon fanned 3 batters and walked 1 for the win. LandonBarrilleaux struck out 3 and walked 3 in the loss.
