Lawrence County hands Lady Panthers 14-4 loss

MONTICELLO -The Lawrence County Lady Cougars whippedBrookhaven’s Lady Panthers 14-4 Tuesday night in a rain-soakedDivision 6-4A softball game.
At the plate, Brookhaven was led by third baseman JulianaWallace and shortstop Kayla Allen with 2 singles. Angela DeLaughterdoubled, Lindsey Marble, Erica Wallace and Mandy Jones singled.
Stacy Smith was the winning pitcher. Marble was charged with theloss.
Brookhaven fell to 4-6 overall and 2-1 with the division loss.The Lady Panthers host South Pike Thursday at the Brookhaven SportsComplex, starting at 6 p.m. with the junior varsity game.
Lawrence County (9-1) was led by left-centerfielder RobbiDampier with 3 hits. Collecting 2 hits were extra hitter ShellieWilson and shortstop Casey Ward.
In the JV game, Brookhaven posted a 22-7 victory. Taylor Cranewas the winning pitcher.
Shamika Gilmore hit a triple and a single for Brookhaven.Samantha Boutwell singled twice and doubled. Devine Porter singledtwice and tripled. Kayla Prince had 2 hits. Kensy Hoff doubled.Also hitting safely were Kristina Wallace, Allyson Wallace Crane,Ranata Allen and Chuvaquah Smith.
