Services for Roosevelt Townsend, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Saturday, Jan. 31, at Williams Mortuary Chapel with burial in MercySeat AME Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 8 p.m. at the funeral homewith family present from 7 until 8 p.m.

Mr. Townsend, 57, died Jan. 23, 2009, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on May 17, 1951, to ThedoreTownsend and Elsie Lee Kelly Townsend.

He was disabled.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Mazie LeeTownsend; and his brothers, John D. Calcote, Otho Lee Brown andJessie Lee Lyons.

Survivors are his brothers, John Townsend and wife, Jeanette, ofBrookhaven, and Henry Lee Townsend and wife, Janell, of Bassfield;his sisters, Diane Townsend, Hazel Townsend, both of Brookhaven,Lula James and husband, Eddie, of Summit, Inez Newton, ofBrookhaven, and Mary Presley and husband, Lee, of Monticello; anuncle, Jimmy Townsend, of Brookhaven; and a host of aunts, nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.
