Doris completed her race and went “home” to be with the Lord onThursday, April 22, 2010. She was 85 years old.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother andgreat-great-grandmother who, being an excellent cook, enjoyedmaking her home a place where everyone who entered was loved andfed well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Spencer Case and AddieMae Furlow Case Kirkwood; two husbands, Meredith Odom Case and FredHolliman; all of her siblings, Paul Case, John Case and MorrisCase: and four children, Linda, Glenda, Ricky and MeredithJr.
She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, NancyElizabeth and Frank Delton Case, Beleta Faye and Charles Dugas;five grandchildren and their spouses, Sherry Orcutt, Mark and AmyCase, KaRetha and Roger Kelley, Karla and Gregg Covington, Kellyand Donna Palmer; 10 great-grandchildren and threegreat-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, La.,on Sunday, April 25, 2010, from 5 until 9 p.m. and will resume onMonday, April 26, 2010, from 9 a.m. until funeral services in thefuneral home chapel at 11 a.m., conducted by Dr. Terry Booth ofAmite Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery inBaker, La.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Palmer, Roger Kelley, Chase Myers,Stephen Kelley, Brandon Palmer and Mike Case.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Case, Gregg Covington and MarkCase.
The family would like to thank Golden Age Nursing Home andLifeSource Hospice for their excellent care during this difficulttime. “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away fromthe body and at home with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8).
