Funeral services for Shawn Marquis “Smitti Lo” Smith of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, at Alexander Junior High School Auditorium, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Bruce Smith will officiate. R.E. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith, 19, died May 12, 2013 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven on May 5, 1994.

He was a member of New Vision Fellowship Church in Brookhaven and was a senior at Brookhaven High School.

Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, James Martin Williams and Randy Todd Wilson Sr.; great-grandmother, Inez Brooks; and great-grandfather, McNair Smith.

Survivors are his mother, LaNissa Anita Wilson Byrd, of Ridgeland; father, Bruce Shawnton Smith, of Brookhaven; stepfather, Erwin K. Byrd Jr. “David”, of Ridgeland; sisters, Alica McPhaul “Angel”, of Ridgeland, Shanyla Smith and Ciara Brown, both of Brookhaven; maternal grandmother, Florence Wilson, of Brookhaven; and paternal grandmother, Ann Henderson, of Brookhaven.
