Don Ervin Brister

Funeral services for Don Ervin Brister, of Jayess, are 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at New Bethel Jesus Name Church in Jayess, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Gary Robinson, the Rev. Larry Reed and the Rev. Ronnie Tuner will officiate. Jones Family Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 5 p.m. until Saturday at 2 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Brister, 52, died Oct. 24, 2012, at his home. He was born in Tylertown on July 25, 1960.
He was a disabled construction worker and welder. He loved to hunt and fish. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Mr. Brister was a faithful member of New Bethel Jesus Name Church. He was also the groundskeeper and former bus driver for the church.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Loretta Barnette Brister; and one brother.
Survivors are his wife of 31 years, Gwen Ann Davis Brister; father, Ervin Brister, of Jayess; sons, Adam Brister and West Brister and wife, Ashdon, all of Jayess; daughter, Connie Perkins and husband, Jonathan, of Jayess; sister Debbie Moody and husband, Allan, of Jayess; two grandchildren, Corbyn Perkins and Guydon Brister; and his faithful friend and pet, Lugs.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Beard, Burton Beard, Scott Battle, Tim James, Donnie Livingston and Gary Dunaway.
