Two killed in accident Wednesday night

A Bogue Chitto man and his great-grandsonwere killed in a one-vehicle accident on Wellman Drive Wednesdayevening, authorities said.
W.E. Wooley, 80, and his great-grandson Hunter Lee Maxwell, a12-year-old student at Enterprise Attendance Center, were on theirway home from Victory Baptist Church when the accident happened,said Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing.
Wooley’s 1999 Buick went off the road on the left side and struck aculvert and a group of trees around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Rushingsaid. The accident happened about one mile from Topisaw Drive.
Rushing said the Brookhaven Fire Department’s Jaws of Life wereneeded to free both Wooley and Maxwell from the vehicle. There wereno other occupants in the vehicle.
Both Wooley and Maxwell were pronounced dead at the scene by DeputyCoroner Robert Tyler, said Coroner Clay McMorris.
Rushing said the accident remains under investigation.
“(The accident happened) right when it started raining,” Rushingsaid. “We haven’t determined if it was weather-related or anythingelse.”
Funeral arrangements, under the direction of Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service, for Wooley and Maxwell are incomplete, McMorrissaid.
