Services for Aaron Ward “A. W.” Thames of Jayess are 2:30 p.m.,Friday, July 19, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial inFelder’s Campground Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Thames, 78, died July 17, 2002, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 7, 1923, to Walter S.and Dottie Ward Thames.
He was a farmer. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Heserved in the Merchant Marines during WWII.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, and fivesisters.
Survivors are his wife, Nannette Alsbrooks Thames of Jayess; hisbrother, Ray Thames of Brookhaven; and his sisters, Pauline Cainand Gussie Norton, both of Brookhaven, Betty Fay Jones ofNashville, Tenn., and Dottie Ruth Hill of Monticello.
