Case scores 30 for Bears; Lady Bears fall to N. Pike

Senior Guard Jay Case pumped in a game high 30 points as WestLincoln had four players in double figures to help the Bears crushthe North Pike Jaguars 95-67 Monday night in Jack CaseGymnasium.

In the varsity girl’s game, North Pike used their size and depth todismantle the Lady Bears 55-15.

West Lincoln resumes action today visiting county rival Enterprisefor their first road test. Tipoff begins with two junior high gamesbefore the varsity girls game gets under way at 6 p.m. Immediatelyfollowing is the boys game.

North Pike will be in actions today, hosting the Tylertown Chiefs.Game time is 6 p.m.

North Pike 55, West Lincoln 15

North Pike center Kaylan Hughes led the Lady Jaguars (4-0) with 16points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 5 assist. Maraya Quin contributed10 points.

“I thought we played well in the first half,” said North Pike coachLance Golmon. “We did not have the energy like we should in thefirst half, but in the second half we managed to get our legs anddid very well. Overall, I was very pleased on how well our benchplayed in the second half.”

Karli Herrington was the leading scorer for the Lady Bears (1-3)with 6 points. Katie Mullins provided 5 points.

“North Pike has a good bunch,” said West Lincoln coach Lane Young.”They pounded us in everything. Our player needs to be committed tothe style we play.”

West Lincoln 95, North Pike 67

Lucas Burris provided assistance to the Bears (4-0) win with 16points. De Price contributed 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.Jared Case pumped in 11 points.

“We really got after it,” said Young. “Defensively, we took NorthPike out of their offensive schemes. I expect it to be a differentgame when we visit them at their place.”

Donavon James led the Jaguars (3-1) with 20 points. LeMicheal Quinchipped in 16 points. Erik Allen contributed 10 points.

“West Lincoln outhustled us,” North Pike coach Keith Russ. Severalof his players are on the football team that is in the Class 4Astate playoffs.
