Services for Addie Byrd Dorsey of Roswell, Ga., are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Dec. 15, at Mt. Olive M. B. Church in Kirby with burialin the church cemetery.
Visitation is Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at thechurch. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dorsey, 80, died Dec. 9, 2001, at her residence. She wasborn in Meadville on Oct. 9, 1921, to Archie Byrd Sr. and Mary JaneHodges Byrd.
She was a former cook at Meadville Nursing Home. She was amember of Mt. Olive M. B. Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WillieDorsey; and her son, Jessie James Dorsey.
Survivors are her sons, Amos Dorsey and Otis Dorsey, both ofCalifornia, and Cedric Blunt of Minnesota; her daughters, JeanMagee of Roswell, Ga., Francis Floyd and Carolyn Gil, both ofCalifornia, and Catherine King of Minnesota; her brother, JessieByrd of Chicago; her sister, Emma Byrd of Temple Hills, Md.; and 10grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces andnephews.
