Chelsey Miller and LaToya Braxton drilled a triple and a singleapiece Thursday night to lead the visiting Bogue Chitto Lady ‘Catsto a 14-2 win over the Enterprise Lady Yellow Jackets in Division7-1A fastpitch softball play.

Bogue Chitto improved to 3-2 in the division and 5-9 on theseason. Enterprise fell to 5-9 overall and 3-4 in division play.The Lady Cats outhit the Lady Jackets 14-2 and committed 8 errorsto the hosts 2.

“It was a long battle that went our way,” said Bogue Chitto coachScott Leggett. “We hit the ball better than the last time weplayed. Enterprise showed great effort all the way to the end.”

Kelli Howard was the winning pitcher with 0 strikeouts and 7 walks.Kayla Owens took the loss, fanning 3 batters and walking 0.

“We left 14 runners on base and could not get them home,” saidEnterprise coach Steve Sasser. “We are still learning. This was afun game. Bogue Chitto made the plays at the end.”

Ashley Greer and Ann Marie Cole hit safely for Enterprise.

Ripping 4 singles for Bogue Chitto was Devon Welch. Darcy Millerand Caitlin both singled twice for Bogue Chitto.

Bogue Chitto meets Loyd Star at 9 a.m. and Brookhaven at 2:15 p.m.Saturday in the Loyd Star tournament.

Junior varsity play

Bogue Chitto nipped Enterprise 2-0 in JVaction. Toy Smith posted the win with 3 strikeouts and 6 walks.Chynna Coghlan took the loss, fanning 3 and walking 0.

Amanda Owen led the Lady ‘Cats with a triple.
