Funeral services for Lucille Wallace Tillman, of New Orleans, formerly of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, with burial in the old Macedonia Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

     Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

     Mrs. Tillman, 99, died Dec. 31, 2012, at United Medical Healthcare in Gretna, La. She was born in Copiah County on Nov. 11, 1913, to Sam and Mary Wallace.

     She was a substitute teacher and a member of Mt. Pilgrim M.B. Church in New Orleans.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Edward Tillman Sr.; sons, Edward Tillman Jr., Sammie Lee Tillman and Eugene Tillman; six brothers; two sisters; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

     Survivors are her son, Douglas Tillman and wife, Barbara, of New Orleans; daughters, Wisie Hampton and husband, Iverson, of New Orleans, Jean Richards, of New Orleans, and Thelma Solomon and husband, George, of Slidell, La.; grandson she raised, Douglas Tillman and wife, Cindy, of Slidell, La.; brother, J.P. Wallace and wife, Mattie, of Chicago; sister, Samella Green and husband, Otis, of Warren, Ark.; daughters-in-law, Ellen Sanders, of New Orleans, and Betty Lewis, of Baton Rouge, La.; 38 grandchildren; 102 great-grandchildren; 132 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
