Services for Mary Alice Smith Wallace of Bogue Chitto are 2p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burialin the church cemetery.

Visitation is today from 4-9 p.m., and from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.,Wednesday at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wallace, 59, died Sept. 9, 2002, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Brookhaven on May 5,1943, to the late Burney Larking Smith, Sr., and the late LunellAvants Smith.

She was a retired bookkeeper for the Lincoln County TaxCollector and Assessor office during Jerry Bailey’s administration.She attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, and was a member of theMiss.-Lou. Daylily Society.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother and asister-in-law, Joe Henry Smith and Bobby Smith; a brother-in-law,Alton Tillotson; and her father-in-law, Percy Quin Wallace.

Survivors are her husband, Dempsey Wallace of Bogue Chitto; herdaughters and sons-in-law, Andrea and Aubrey Case of Anahuac,Texas, Robin Webb of Bogue Chitto, and Beth and Jody Jordan ofLake; her brother, Burney Larkin Smith Jr., of McComb; her sistersand brothers-in-law, Sue Tillotson of Bogue Chitto and Betty CarolMartin, both of Bogue Chitto, Sandra and Jimmy Diamond ofBrookhaven, and Johnny and Terry Lynn Watkins of Brookhaven; herhalf-sister and her husband, Sylvia and Fred Hiley of Terrell,Texas; her grandchildren, Jennifer Case, Alan Case, Jason Case,Anthony Webb, Quinn Webb, Coleen Webb and Elliot Webb; hermother-in-law, Mrs. Hardie Wallace of Brookhaven; herbrothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, L.A. and Omega Varnado ofMesquite, Texas, Dan and Gail Wallace of Bogue Chitto, TrumanWallace of Bogue Chitto, and Elizabeth and John Ray Smith ofBrookhaven; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces andnephews.

Pallbearers will be Alan Case, Anthony Webb, Jonathon Smith,Scott Prather, Blake Case and Robert Varnado. Honorary pallbearerswill be Brad Tillotson, Dennis Case, Richard Nations and GregMcCaffery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American CancerSociety or Hospice Ministries of Brookhaven.
