Mullins Logging leads Franklin Co. Dixie Youth

BUDE – Franklin County Dixie Youth action in the Major Leaguecircuit starts and ends with the progression of the Mullins Loggingteam. Paced by two recent victories, Mullins Logging leads the FCMajor League Division.
Mullins Logging 10, Southern Pipe 7
Paced by a triple from Triston Beach and two singles from KadeClanton, the Mullins Logging squad road to a 10-7 victory behindthe pitching of Roxie native Javy Watts.
Watts struck out four to clinch the game.
For Southern Pipe, Bernard Selmon absorbed the loss despitestriking out five. At the plate he led his team with two singles.Selmon leads the league with a .567 batting average.
Mullins Logging 11, Southern Pipe 7
Mullins Logging completed the sweep of Southern Pipe, with a sixstrikeout performance from Clanton to keep its winning ways up.
At the plate Meadville native Triston Beach ripped a home run,while Clanton had a double and two singles. Zayne Mullins and HobyMullins each added a double and a single.
For Southern Pipe, Bernard Selmon had two singles. DerekBrumfield added a single as well.
Southern Pipe 6, Peoples Bank 3
Derek Brumfield pitched Southern Pipe out of a losing streakwith four strikeouts, to beat Peoples Bank of Franklin County 6-3in league action.
At the plate, Chase Buckels, Tyler Rushing, and Brumfield ledSouthern Pipe with two singles apiece.
Losing pitcher Trey Bailey struck out nine for Peoples Bank, andadded a single at the plate.
Peoples Bank 10, Mullins Logging 5
Trey Bailey came back and beat division leader Mullins Logging,as Peoples Bank pulled a 10-5 upset to win the contest. Bailey had8 strikeouts in the game, walking only three.
At the plate, Peoples Bank was led by Graham Cowart with twosingles.
For Mullins Logging, Hoby Mullins led all batters with a doubleand a single. Zayne Mullins finished with two singles.
League action resumes Friday night at 6:30 in Leroy ‘Cowboy’Jones Ballpark in Bude.
