Services for Clara Bonds of Meadville are 11 a.m., Saturday,Dec. 21, at New Fork U.M. Church with burial in MeadvilleCemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon through the wake service, whichis from 5-8 p.m., at Tyler Funeral home.

Mrs. Bonds, 86, died Dec. 16, 2002, at Natchez Regional MedicalCenter. She was born in Franklin County on Jan. 23, 1916, to JohnnyPickett and Mable Weathersby Pickett.

She had been a supervisor in a shipyard in Mobile and was ahomemaker. She was a member of New Fork U.M. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, LutherBonds Sr.; her sons, Johnny, Cleve, Mack, and Isaac; her daughters,Beulah Bonds Washington, Arie Bonds Walters, Pinkie Bonds Rounds,and Josephine “Carrie Mae” Carradine; her brothers, Edward Pickettand Ralph Pickett; and her sisters, Rosie Lee Williams and LunaHilliary.

Survivors are her sons, the Rev. Luther Bonds Jr. and ClarenceCausey, both of Meadville; her daughters, Lula Bonds James, MyraBonds Washington, and Eva Bonds Rodgers, all of Natchez, and DoraBonds Richardson of Meadville; her brothers, Oliver Pickett ofChicago, Oscar Pickett of New Orleans, and Arthur Pickett and OtisDaniel Pickett, both of Meadville; her sisters, Guynell Pickett ofIrving, Texas, and Lucille Pickett of Port Gibson; and 22grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces andnephews.
