UTICA – The Hinds AHS Lady Bulldogs cruised past the Wesson LadyCobras for a 58-40 Region 6-2A win Tuesday night.

In the boys’ game, the Bulldogs of Hinds AHS managed to prevailover the Wesson Cobras for a 62-51 victory.

The Cobras and Lady Cobras will gear up to host region foe LoydStar Friday for a big division matchup. Tipoff is 6 p.m. with thegirls’ game, followed by the boys.

Hinds AHS 58, Wesson 40

Junior center Dylann Harris pumped in a game-high 11 points andgrabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Lady Cobras (5-10, 0-4).

Adrienne Burks was the leader for the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points.Erica Harris chipped in with 12 points. Eugena Grigsby provided adouble-double for Hinds with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Hinds AHS 62, Wesson 51

The Wesson Cobras (4-9, 2-2) were led by two players scoring 12points apiece: Gib Britt and James Clay.

“We did not show up to play,” said Wesson boys coach Rusty Newman.”We came out sluggish and they forced us into playing their game.Hinds AHS is very quick and athletic.”

Eric Christmas knocked down a game-high 19 points and grabbed 6rebounds to lead the Bulldogs. Kajuan Williams provided supportwith 12 points and snatched down 5 rebounds. Ledarion Robinsonadded 11 points.
