Joyce Myers Howell, 77, of Youngsville, La., and formerly ofGretna, La., died Jan. 17, 2008, at Camelot of Broussard NursingHome in Broussard, La.

She was born June 22, 1930, in Pike County. She was the daughterof Alex E. Myers and Retha Velma Nettles Myers.

She was a retired researcher for Texaco/Chevron in New Orleanswith 30 years service.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, ElderMelvin Myers, Jeff Myers and Joe Myers; four sisters, MildredThompson, Mable Dunn, Merle Sterling and Helen Boyd and an infantgranddaughter, Elizabeth Howell.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken andMelanie Howell, of Youngsville, and Michael Howell Sr. and ElaineHowell, of Gretna; three brothers, Elder Wayne Myers, ofBrookhaven, Jerry Myers, of Pearl, and Bill Myers, of Pricedale;two sisters, Hilda Davis, of Carlyss, La., and Sarah Jackson, ofTylertown; four grandchildren, Tiffany Howell, of Houston, Texas,Michael Howell Jr., of Gretna, Jonas Howell and Rachel Howell, bothof Youngsville; three great-grandchildren, Teagan Davis, CaelanDavis and Kai Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Sunday at Jones Family Funeral Services in McCombfrom 5 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m.at Union Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Wayne Myers and ElderRandy Myers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Victor Myers, David Myers, Greg Myers, TimMyers, Ricky Myers, Mickey Myers, Don Davis and Jim Davis.
