Funeral services for Rena Ruth Bledsoe Thompson, of Hazlehurst,were 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at New Zion Church of God inChrist in Caseyville with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery inCaseyville. Williams Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Thompson, 79, died May 13, 2011, at Hardy Wilson MemorialHospital in Hazlehurst. She was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 17,1932, to Otho Henry Mingo and Lessie Mae Mingo.

She was retired. She was a member of New Zion Church of God inChrist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, CurtisHenderson, John Bledsoe and Charlie Thompson; her sons, CurtisHenderson Jr., Michael Henderson and Howard Henderson; and hergrandson, Devone Bledsoe.

Survivors are her daughters, Geraldean Collins and husband, Robert,Deloris O’Neal and husband, Earnest, and Lessie O’Neal and husband,Ivory, all of Chicago, Ill., and Norma Newton and husband, Antoine,of Crystal Springs; her son, John Bledsoe and wife, Dot, ofBrookhaven; her brothers, William Mingo and wife, Johnnie Mae,Robert James Mingo and wife, Ida, Otho Henry Mingo Jr. and wife,Sarah, Charles Mingo, and George Mingo, all of Chicago; hersisters, Bessie Jackson and husband, James, and Katie McCaa andhusband, Jim, all of Chicago, and Lessie Harrison and husband,Rayford, of Crystal Springs; 29 grandchildren; 49great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
