Services for Lela Mary Derryberry of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.Sunday, Jan. 9 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Easthaven Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Derryberry, 99, died Jan. 6, 2005, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Hardeman County, Tenn., on June 27,1905, to Thomas Chapman and Ida Sinclair Chapman.

She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Easthaven BaptistChurch. She was known as “Bubba” to her grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JohnDerryberry; her sisters, Nannie Derryberry, Virgie Spain, RubyWhorton and Lucille Branch; and a brother, Earnest Chapman.

Survivors are her daughters, Joyce McGowen and her husband,Bobby, of Brookhaven, Jean Smith and her husband, Hester, ofSummit, and Libby Holden and her husband, Glen, of San Antonio,Texas; her son, John Derryberry and his wife, Margaret, of Brandon;her brother, James Chapman of Indianapolis, Ind.; 13 grandchildren;and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Mike McGowen, Keith McGowen,Tim McGowen, Joshua Watts, Brian Smith, Chip Holden, Kevin Lewisand Randall Lewis.
