Natchez rips FCHS

NATCHEZ -The Natchez High Bulldogs swept the Franklin CountyBulldogs in the Miss-Lou Classic over the weekend. Natchez won theboys game over Franklin County 51-28 and the girls’ contest44-36.
“The effort wasn’t really there tonight,” Franklin County headcoach Chris Jordan said. “We’re missing six to seven players rightnow due to football.”
FC could not adjust to Natchez’s quick and elusive play. TheBulldogs (1-4) was overwhelmed in the second period, behind a19-point outburst by Natchez.
Led by Dwon Hughes, Natchez had five 3-pointers in the firsthalf.
The River City Bulldogs used a full court defense to keepFranklin County off balance the entire contest, which gave FCHS itsthird straight loss of the season.
Jeremy Watkins led Natchez with 13 points followed by Hugheswith 11.
Jason Hunt and Taylor Washington led Franklin County with ninepoints each. Hunt also had ten rebounds.
The Bulldogs will play in the Ocean Springs Classic tonight andTuesday.
Natchez 44, Franklin County 36
The Natchez girls roared out to 24-23 halftime lead and neverlooked back, as FC fell apart in the second half.
Natchez outscored Franklin County 19-7 in the third quarter totake a 13-point lead after three quarters of play. Franklin Countytried to mount a come back in the fourth, but it was too late.
Keosha Bradley led Natchez with 15 points while Alia Frank wasright behind with 14.
Franklin County was led by CeeCee Davis with 12 points. SeniorsCharlesia Houston and Monea Cameron both added eight points in thelosing effort.
