Services for James William Spring of Smithdale are 2 p.m.Sunday, Dec. 23, at Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church with burialin the church cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday, Dec. 23, from 1-2 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Spring, 82, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at SouthwestRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Franklin Countyon June 15, 1919, to Walter W. and Virginia Amazon DavisSpring.
He was retired after 28 years with International Paper Companyin Natchez in the finishing and shipping department. He was aseaman first class in the Navy and a veteran of World War II. Hewas the recipient of two Purple Hearts. He was a longtime member ofMt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church.
He was a loving husband, father and great-grandfather.
Pallbearers are Danny Spring, Carlos Spring, Jamie Spring, BradWicker, Ellie Spring, Marc Roper, Thomas Daughdrill and Nick Young.Honorary pallbearers are Mr. Spring’s grandsons.
Hartman Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.
