Hinds AHS routs Enterprise

The Hinds AHS Bulldog basketball teams continue to roll overtheir division opponents. Friday night at Enterprise, the Hinds AHSboys and girls varsity and junior high girls team posted Division6-2A wins over the host Yellow Jackets.
The Hinds AHS boys, powered by JeCorey Wright’s 20 points,posted a 105-60 win over Enterprise.
In the girls game, Kyla Marshall’s 14 points directed the LadyBulldogs to a 63-30 victory over the Lady Jackets.
Enterprise travels to St. Andrew’s Tuesday for more divisionbasketball action.
Hinds AHS 105, 60
Hinds AHS used its speed and jumping ability to streak to a 24-6lead in the first quarter. The Jackets shook off the first-quarterjitters but couldn’t stop the fast-break speed of the Bulldogs whocarried a 48-22 lead in at the half.
“I was very proud of my guys,” said Enterprise boys coach JoshBass. “I thought we put forth a good team effort. We really playedbetter as a team.”
Hinds AHS, even with its final subs off the bench. could notmiss. The Bulldogs led 78-46 at the end of the third quarter andfinished the game with a 27-14 run to secure the win.
Powering Enterprise (2-18, 0-6) with a game-high 25 points wasJamie Smith. Austin Everett netted 12 points.
Hinds AHS, had four other players in double figures and got 19points from Keesler Stewart. Netting 10 points each were ErikBurks, Timothy Myles and Keith Williams.
Hinds AHS 63, Enterprise 30
“Hinds AHS is so athletic,” said Enterprise girls coach JillNations. “They’re quick. We struggled in the first half.”
As in the boys game, the Enterprise girls were slow to getstarted an fell behind Hinds AHS 23-9 at the end of the firstquarter. At halftime, the Lady Bulldogs commanded a 40-13 lead.
Tara Paden paced Enterprise (8-12, 2-4) with 8 points and 7rebounds. Amanda Burke and Lacey Orr finished with 7 points apiece.Sarah Burke grabbed 4 rebounds. Amanda Burke collected 5 reboundsand made 2 steals.
The Lady Bulldogs got added support from Audrik Webster with 12points. .
In the junior high game, the Hinds AHS girlswhipped Enterprise 30-18.
