Services for Julia George Ilsley, of Brookhaven, were held at 11a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Churchin Brookhaven with burial in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery inBrookhaven. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Ilsley, 93, died Oct. 15, 2007, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on March 13, 1914, to Amien George and LatifieGeorge.

She was retired and had worked as a secretary with the Farmer’sHome Administration in Columbia. She was a member of St. Francis ofAssisi Catholic Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WilmerJoseph Ilsley; her sisters, Mary Adeline Attaya and LillyMartinson; and her brother, Amien Thomas George.

Survivors are her daughter, Patricia Anne Colvin and husbandAlan, of Jacksonville, N.C.; her sisters, Frieda Hutson andCatherine George, both of Brookhaven; her brother, William George,of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, Stephen Brent Snowden, ofRaleigh, N.C., Julia Marie Snowden Vesilind, of Cary, N.C., andAlan Colvin Jr., of Jacksonville; and her great-grandchildren,Brittany, William, Jake, Lela and Gavin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis ofAssisi Catholic Church of Brookhaven.
