Services for Vernon Lamar Williams of Baker, La., formerly ofMonticello, are 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, at Baker Funeral HomeChapel with graveside military honors following in Zoar BaptistChurch Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 5-9 p.m., and Saturday from 9-11 a.m.,at the funeral home.

Mr. Williams, 74, died Sept. 3, 2003, at Lane MemorialHospital.

He was a retired certified residential appraiser, primarilyserving E. Federal Credit Union members for the past 20 years. Hewas an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Preceding him in death were his father, Clive Williams; hismother, Mittie Maxwell Williams; a brother, G.A. Williams; and asister, Emily Robertson.

Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Carolyn Langston Williams ofBaker, La.; his daughter, Wanda Williams Michel; his sons, MaxVernon Williams and Matthew Tipton Williams; his sister, LaverneJackson; his brother, Hardy L. Williams; seven grandchildren; andone great-great-grandchild.
