Funeral services for Charlie Stephens, of Monticello, are 2 p.m.on Sunday, Aug. 1, at Monticello Methodist Protestant Church inMonticello, with burial in Monticello Municipal Cemetery inMonticello. Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello is in charge ofarrangements.
Mr. Stephens, 90, died July 29, 2010, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in LawrenceCounty on July 4, 1920, to Houston Stephens and Mamie WrenStephens.
He was a retired pipefitter. He was a member of MonticelloMethodist Protestant Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WorldWar II.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Ethleen ThamesStephens; his brothers, Willard Stephens, Edward Stephens and OllieStephens; and his sister, Frances Jenkins.
Survivors are his son, Charles Mack Stephens and wife, Willene, ofCollins; his daughter, Annette Harvey and husband, Jimmy, ofMonticello; his brother, Victor Stephens, of Monticello; hissisters, Alice Cliburn, of Pearl, Linda Goings, of Franklinton, andElaine Braswell, of Jayess; six grandchildren; and 10great-grandchildren.
