DECATUR — The Co-Lin Wolves and Lady Wolves posted a pair ofkey South Division wins Thursday night over the East CentralWarrior teams.

Joe Holliday pumped in a game-high 22 points to power the Wolvesto a 74-64 win over the Warriors.

In the womens’ game, the Lady Wolves outscored the Lady Warriors6-5 in overtime to escape with a 57-56 victory. At the end ofregulation, the teams were tied at 51-all.

The Co-Lin men, coached by Dennis Sims, improved to 10-5 on theseason and 5-3 in the division. Coach Gwyn Young’s Lady Wolvesremain unbeaten in division play at 8-0 and pushed their overallrecord to 12-4.

East Central fell to 14-5 in mens’ play and 13-6 in women’saction.

Co-Lin returns home to Mullen Gymnasium next week for two moredivision games. The Wolves host the Southwest Bears Monday nightand come back to entertain the Gulf Coast Bulldogs Thursday.

Co-Lin 74, East Central 64

The Wolves rallied from a 40-36 deficit at halftime to bringhome the big division win.

“We played extremely well the last 19 minutes of the secondhalf,” said Sims. “Arvel Keys came up big with 14 rebounds. Thiswas a good road win for us. I believe this was East Central’s firsthome loss.”

Adding support in the Wolves’ win with 12 points and 10 assistswas Ivory Dishmon. Netting 10 points was Jemario Martin. TremaineEnoch collected 8 rebounds.

Pacing the Warriors with 14 points apiece were Earnesto Greenand Sam Walton. Johnny Hodge finished with 10. Grabbing 6 reboundswas Walton.

Co-Lin 57, East Central 56

“It was great to win in overtime against a very good EastCentral team,” said Young. “We felt very fortunate to win at EastCentral.”

Directing the Co-Lin women with 19 points and 5 steals wasfreshman guard Nikki Williams. Dominique Whitfield netted 12 pointsfollowed by Erica Trahan with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Anna Autmanfollowed with 6 rebounds and Jennifer Carter with 5.

“In the second half, the lead changed hands many times but atthe end of regulation, we had to hold East Central from scoring forthe last 8.9 seconds to go into overtime,” added Young.

Leading East Central with a game-high 22 points and 11 reboundswas Shannon Loyd. Valarie Harris followed with 11 points and 9rebounds.
