Carl Henry Chapman

Services for Carl Henry Chapman of Union Church are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burialin Union Church Cemetery in Jefferson County.

Visitation is Tuesday from 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Chapman, 85, died Feb. 23, 2004, at Meadville Nursing Home.He was born in Union Church on April 25, 1918, to James EdwardChapman and Irma Youngblood Chapman.

He retired in 1972 as a refinery operator for Exxon Mobil inBaton Rouge, La., after more than 38 years. He was a member ofGalatia United Methodist Church in Jefferson County.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Mamie Kingand Inez Ray; and a brother, T.J. Chapman.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Idell Chapman of Union Church; hisdaughters, Nancy C. Mosley and Karla C. Browning, both of BatonRouge, La.; his son, Cecil L. Chapman of Atlanta, Ga.; his sisters,Virgie McCormick and Hazel McCormick, both of Union Church, andLillie Sanders of Fayette; his brother, Percy Chapman of UnionChurch; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Donald Rea Higdon

Services for Donald Rea Higdon of Hazlehurst are 10 a.m.,Wednesday, Feb. 25, at First Baptist Church Chapel in Hazlehurstwith burial in Hazlehurst City Cemetery. Community Funeral Servicesis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5-8 p.m., at the church chapel.

Mr. Higdon, 61, died Feb. 23, 2004, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Copiah County on June 20,1943, to Roy Dennis Higdon Sr. and Betty Barlow Higdon.

He was a retired electrician.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his daughters, Marnie Reynolds and Dee DeeArmstrong, both of Hazlehurst; his sister, Betty Bozeman ofHazlehurst; his brothers, Dean Higdon and Frank Higdon, both ofHazlehurst, Roy Higdon of Terry, and Barlow Higdon of Byram; andsix grandchildren.
