Moak, Rayborn capture KDMC Jr. Tennis Classic

Anna C. Moak and Jerrod Rayborn of Brookhaven won theirrespective divisions in the KDMC May Madness Junior Tennis Classic.Moak captured the girls 16s singles title and Rayborn won boys 18sSunday afternoon on the City Courts.

Moak defeated Audra Nicholas of Madison 6-1, 6-2 in the finals.Rayborn beat Alex Boyd of Brandon 7-5, 6-2.

“We really appreciate King’s Daughters Therapy and Fitness forsponsoring this tournament,” said tournament referee David Misnerwho is tennis director of Brookhill on Natchez.

Misner said that in two weeks Brookhill on Natchez will host theNTRP Adult Tournament for players in level 2.5 up, May 28-29.

Seventy-eight players registered for the May Madness tourney.Due to heavy rainfall, the doubles matches were canceled because ofthe weekend rain.

In girls 12s, Davis Beard of Natchez upset No. 1 seed CatherineHolliday of Jackson in the semifinals 7-6, 7-5.
