A memorial service for Joel Steven Smith, of Brookhaven, is 2p.m. Saturday, June 19, at Community Funeral Service Chapel.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service at thefuneral home.

Smith, 48, died June 15, 2010, at his residence. He was born onDec. 4, 1961, in Brookhaven, to Rudolph “R.J.” Smith Jr. and TommySwilley Smith.

Mr. Smith was a graduate of Barbe High School in Lake Charles,La. He was an oil well tool inspector. He was a member of theChurch of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his sons, Richard Joel “R.J.” Smith and hiswife, Sharon, of Lake Charles, and Steven Smith; his daughter,Jodie Renee Sepulvado, of Lake Charles; his brother, Rudy Smith andhis wife, Amy, of Brookhaven; and his three grandchildren, GageJustin Smith, Cade Patrick Sepulvado and Layden PaulSepuldavado.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to theAmerican Cancer Society.
