Hometown Bucks winner ‘shocked’

A trip to purchase ornaments for the Christmas tree gave KimThompson some extra money for gifts to put under the tree.
Thompson was chosen last week as the fifth $100 Hometown Buckswinner. She entered annual DAILY LEADER Hometown Christmaspromotion while buying Bogue Chitto Christmas tree ornaments forher father, school principal Jerry Meador, and husband DaleThompson, at Brookhaven Sports Company.
Thompson said she was “shocked” when she found out she hadwon.
“I’ve never won anything before,” Thompson said.
Thompson said she’d probably spend her winnings at BrookhavenSports Co.
“I’m sure I’ll get my children some shoes,” she said, referringto her daughters Madison, 4, and Nealie, 10 months.
Weekly $100 winners will be selected each Friday until Dec. 12when the grand prize winner of $500 in Hometown Bucks will bedrawn. This year’s participating businesses include Betty Ann’s;Brookhaven Sports; Engravables; Expectations; Millane’s Gifts andBridal Registry; Rushing Boots; Sister’s By Design; Smith Bros.Collision Center and Truck Accessories; T.H. Perkins Furniture Co.;and Wizard Electronics
Forms and boxes have been placed at each merchant location forshoppers to submit entries. Shoppers may also register at Bank ofBrookhaven, State Bank and Trustmark National Bank.
Shoppers may enter as many times as they would like.
DAILY LEADER employees and their families are not eligible towin. Employees of participating merchants may not register at theirrespective business, but they may register at any of the otherparticipating merchants.
