The Lincoln County and Brookhaven school districts recognizedsome special people last week:

Ramona Dunn, Cindy Rollins-Smith, Carolyn Welch and VickieWilson were recognized as Parents of the Year in the county whileSally Doty, Shannon Clark, Amy Jacobs, Susan Jones, Rob Fisher andAva Jane Newell were honored by the city.

These folks play an important role in the school districts,offering support anywhere and everywhere it is needed. The schoolsappreciate what they do, so do we, and so should everyone who has achild in either school system.

In just a few weeks, school will be back in session. Weencourage other parents to follow the lead of this year’s honorees– take an active role in your child’s education. Anything thathelps our schools helps our community.
