Services for Sol “Mr. Hib” Adams Jr. of Meadville are 1 p.m.Saturday at New Bethel Baptist Church in Monroe, Miss., with burialin the church cemetery. Marshall Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Adams, 86, died Sept. 19, 2005, at Veterans MemorialHospital in Jackson. He was born in Jan. 2, 1919, in FranklinCounty to the late Sol Adams Sr. and Adline Taylor Adams.

He was a member of the Devoted Deacons.

Preceding him in death were parents; his wife, Lillie Mae Adams;and one sister.

Survivors are his daughters, Carolyn Anderson of Jackson, Miss.,and Christine Fontenot of Beaumont, Texas; his sisters, IsophineWeatherspoon of Monroe, Miss., and Josephine Dixon of Beaumont,Texas; his brother, Nathaniel Adams; and a host of grandchildren,nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
