BA teams roll past Hillcrest

Junior guard Jeremy Winborne pumped in 29 points and seniorguard Cole Hodges netted 22 to power host Brookhaven Academy in a68-63 Tuesday night win over Hillcrest Christian in a battle ofCougar teams. On the blackboards, Hodges led with 12 reboundsfollowed by Winborne with nine.
In varsity girls action, senior center Kristian Davidson firedin 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Brookhaven in a54-34 win over Hillcrest Christian.
Brookhaven 68, Hillcrest 63
The BA Cougars, coached by Dale Watts, got added support fromjunior center Seth Davis with nine points. The hosts improved to22-1 on the season. They are 10-0 in District 4-AA.
The hosts led the visitors 33-30 at the half and 56-50 goinginto the fourth quarter. Hillcrest cut its deficit to 1-pointbefore BA caught fire.
Kyle Cauthern led Hillcrest with 15 points. Netting 14 apiecewere Stanley Lovett and Lee Taplin. Nick Burcham finished with 10points.
Brookhaven 54, Hillcrest 34
In the girls game, guard Mallory Logan fired in 11 points tolead BA. Kelli Byrd netted 10 points and made six steals. EmilyLangley followed with six steals and Lauren Smith led with sevenassists.
The BA Lady Cougars improved to 24-1 on the season and remain10-0 in District 4-AA play. They are coached by Barry Gray.
Memory McAlpin had nine points from Hillcrest.

Junior high games
The BA boys (14-6) clipped Hillcrest 37-34. Powering the hostswith nine points was Ty Smith followed by Kolby Byrd with eightpoints.
Cody Womack led Hillcrest with 21 points.
The BA girls (20-1, 11-0) dumped Hillcrest 42-32. Leading BAwith 12 points each were Kelli Brady and Kelli Snider. Drew HollandTigner finished with 11 points and five rebounds. Brady pulled downsix rebounds.
BA hosts District 4-AA foe Bowling Green Friday for five games.A seventh grade contest kicks off at 3 p.m. followed by two juniorthen varsity games.
Brookhaven Academy is scheduled to play Natchez Trinity Saturdayat Mississippi College in Clinton.
