Services for Jerry Thomas Rudman of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.Sunday, June 9, at Saint Francis Catholic Church with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is Saturday, June 8, from 4-9 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home with a wake prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Rudman, 75, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. He was born in Chicago, Ill., on May 8, 1927, theson of the late Jerry and Valasta Rudman.
Mr. Rudman, a graduate of the University of Illinois and acertified public accountant, moved to Brookhaven in 1954 to serveas controller of Johnston Lawn Mower Corporation, one of the firstmanufacturing companies in Brookhaven. In 1962, he opened hisindependent accounting practice.
He served the community as a past president and active member ofthe Brookhaven Noon Lions Club, director of the Brookhaven CountryClub, United Fund Drive co-chairman, president of the IndustrialDevelopment Foundation of the Chamber of Commerce, BrookhavenSchool Board member for 10 years, and was secretary-treasurer ofBrookhaven-Lincoln County Dixie Boys Baseball, Inc. He was anactive member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, DeloresSloboda.
Survivors are his wife, Iris Coker Rudman; sons, Jerry Rudman ofNew Hope, Penn., Jon Rudman of Ramstein, Germany, and Joel Rudmanof Niceville, Fla.; daughters, Judy Rudman of Brookhaven andSuzanne Brooks of Georgetown, Texas; sister, Shirley Glenn ofMattoon, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
Donations may be made to Hospice Ministries, Inc., 397Brookhaven Street, or to St. Francis Catholic Church, 227 EastCherokee Street.
