Lena Bernice Clark McCall

Services for Lena Bernice Clark McCall, of Magnolia, are 3 p.m.Saturday, May 29 at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb with burial inEbenezer Cemetery in Franklin County.

Visitation is today from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from 1-3 p.m. atthe funeral home.

Mrs. McCall, 78, died May 26, 2005, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. She was born in Smithdale onAug. 16, 2005, to Edward Clark and Ottie Avant Clark.

She was a homemaker and graduate of Mars Hill High School. Shewas a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JosephMcCall; one daughter, Linda Gayle Jordan; and one brother, KennethClark.

Survivors are her son, Russell “Rusty” Jordan, of Gulfport; hersix daughters, Evelyn Haymon, of Brandon, Bettye Lewis, of Street,Judy Branning, of Smithdale, Mar Wheatley, of Terrell, Texas,Bessie Nimon, of Terry, and Bonnie Adams, of Smithdale; onebrother, Vernon Clark, of Gulfport; one sister, Sue Sims, ofSmithdale; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

James Alvin Thurman

Services for James Alvin Thurman, of McComb, were 10 a.m. today,May 27 at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb with burial in NavillaBaptist church Cemetery in McComb.

Mr. Thurman, 70, died May 23, 2005, at his residence. He wasborn in Sarepta, La., on Jan. 2, 1935, to Edward Horace Thurman andLizzie Lois Smith Thurman.

He was a retired from Weyhauser and International Paper Companyof Natchez. He was a member of Navilla Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, GlendaFaye Cothern Thurman.

Survivors are his daughters, Pamela Williams, of Brookhaven, anddonna Thurman Burch and her husband, John, of McComb; hisgrandchildren, John Phillip Price II, James Thurman Price, AngelaBurch McGuire and Prentiss Nelson Williams; onestep-great-grandchild, Leah Claire McGuire; his sisters, OvelleWilburn, of Sarepta, Christille Aquila, of California, Bertie MaeTaylor, of Arkansas, and Patsy Young, of Bradley, Ark.
