Funeral services for Edna Smith Holloway,of Wesson, are 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at New Sight BaptistChurch, with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Homeon Natchez Avenue is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home andSaturday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Mrs. Holloway, 88, died Oct. 13, 2011, at her home. She was born inLincoln County on Nov. 6, 1922, to Hiram Rankin Smith and MattieChandler Smith.
She was retired cosmetologist and enjoyed doing crafts. She was amember of New Sight Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Thomas Holloway;son, Larry Allen; daughter, Janice Allen; brothers, Vernon Smithand Carnie Smith; sisters, Lola Case, Nellie Case, Marie Boling;nephews Virgil Smith and Shelby Smith; and niece, CarolynRoberts.
Survivors are her stepdaughter, Bonnie Ard and husband, Pat, ofJayess; grandsons, John Ard and Jason Ard; granddaughter, JulieJames; brother, Alfred Smith and wife, Doris, of Jackson; sisterEthel Mae Smith Britt, of Brookhaven; sisters-in-law, Frances Reed,of Winona, Charlotte Buchanan, of Indianola, and Caroline Donham,of Raleigh, N.C.; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Holloway, of Sinton, Texasand William “Buddy” Holloway, of Simms, Texas; and numerous niecesand nephews.
