Robert ‘Buddy’ Charles Hines Jr.

Robert “Buddy” Charles Hines Jr., 56, of Meridian, passed awayon Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in Bay St. Louis. He was born inBrookhaven.

Living in Meridian, he always considered Bay St. Louis a secondhome and had plans of retiring there. He was of the Baptist faithand was a member of the Knox Masonic Lodge in Meridian. Buddy was awonderful husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many, whowill be sadly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. and Dora HinesSr.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Pamela Dudley Hines, ofMeridian; his three daughters and their spouses, Shannan Kane andPatrick, of Jacksonville, Fla., Amanda Davison and Brian, ofHouston, Texas, and Alyssa Buzbee and Chris, of Westwego, La.; hissister, Margaret Ann Bullock and husband, Donnie, of Punta Gorda,Fla.; his five grandchildren, Justin Buzbee, Ashlyn Kane, KendallKane, Ella Davison and Will Davison.

The visitation will be on Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 10.until 11 a.m. at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis withthe memorial service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the State ofMississippi Masonic Lodge.

Velma Lena Bell Harrison

Services for Velma Lena Bell Harrison, of Hazlehurst, are 2 p.m.Monday, May 4, at Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle with burial inDentville Community Cemetery. Community Funeral Services is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 4 until 9 p.m. and Monday from 1 p.m.until the time of the service at the church.

Mrs. Harrison, 84, died May 1, 2009, at Hardy Wilson MemorialHospital. She was born in Texas on May 17, 1924, to Lee Reneau andGertrude Scott Reneau.

She was a teacher’s aide with Hazlehurst City Schools. She was acharter member at Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Donald J.Harrison; her daughter; her son; and her grandchild.

Survivors are her sons, Donald J. Harrison Jr., of Hazlehurst,and Billy Joe Smith, of Oklahoma; her daughters, Pam Lopez, ofHazlehurst, Bobbie Jean Nicholas, of Oklahoma, and Patricia Blueand Charlotte Nell Lopez, of Texas; her sisters, Erma Prue andBeatrice Murphy; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

J. C. Millwood Jr.

J. C. Millwood Jr., 59, passed away Friday, May 1, 2009, atRiver Oaks Hospital in Flowood. Visitation is 1:30 p.m. Sundayuntil the 3:30 p.m. chapel service at Ott & Lee Funeral Home inBrandon. Interment will follow in Sylvarena Baptist Church Cemeteryin Wesson.

Mr. Millwood was born July 27, 1947, in Yazoo City and grew upin Belzoni. He joined the Army Armed Forces for two years and was agraduate of Hinds Junior College and attended Mississippi College.He retired from BellSouth with over 30 years of service and waspresently employed with AT&T. He loved fishing, hunting andriding horses. He doted on his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. C. Millwood Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Hutson Millwood, of Brandon;his daughters, Kim Sullivan and husband, Bo, of Richland, AmberMaddox and husband, Jason, of Clinton, and Crystal Ross andhusband, Dusty, of Utica; his mother, Lillian Elizabeth Millwood,of Belzoni; his grandchildren, Ellen Carol Sullivan, MajorSullivan, Drew Ross and Dalton Maddox; his sister, Paulette Lloydand husband, Shelby, of Belzoni; and his brother, Tim Millwood andwife, Paula, of Belzoni.

Versie Lee ‘Sonny Boy’ McGee

Services for Versie Lee “Sonny Boy” McGee, of Sontag, are 11a.m. Monday, May 4, at Pine Grove M.B. Church in Sontag with burialin the church cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral homewith family hour from 5 until 6 p.m.

Mr. McGee, 70, died April 30, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Sontag on Feb. 23, 1939, to Herman McGee and Velma SmithMcGee.

He was a retired self-employed dairy farmer. He was a member ofPine Grove M.B. Church, where he served on the trustee board.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, BlanchieLee Selman and Lorena Green; his brothers, Artell McGee and a twinbrother at birth; his son-in-law, Terry Darnell Banks; hisgreat-uncle, George Crump; and his great-aunt, Lenora Crump.

Survivors are his wife, Maxine Barner McGee, of Sontag; hisdaughters, Veronica McGee, Patricia Banks and Pamela McGee, all ofSontag, and Alice Thompson and husband, Arthur, of Brookhaven; hisson, Elmer Lee Leggett, of Brookhaven; his special son, FredDillon, of Sontag; his sisters, Geneva Bates, of Sontag, and AnnaLee Davis and Beola McGee, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; his brothers,W. H. McGee and wife, Cola, Robert McGee and Eugene McGee, all ofSontag, and Charles McGee and wife, Earnestine, of Wesson; fourgrandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends.

Jeanette ‘Net’ Henderson Wilson

Services for Jeanette “Net” Henderson Wilson, of Wesson, are 2p.m. Monday, May 4, at Sylvarena Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 6 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral homeand from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday at the church.

Mrs. Wilson, 70, died May 1, 2009, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. She was a native of Panola County and moved to theBrookhaven/Wesson area in 1985.

She was a graduate of South Panola High School. She attendedSylvarena Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother.She took great pride in spending time with her family andfriends.

To have known Net was to love her. She never met a stranger.

Preceding her in death was her granddaughter, Amanda Jo Purser;her brother, Billy Henderson; and her parents.

Survivors are her daughters, Jan Hutson and husband, Randy, ofWesson, and Billie Culbreath and husband, William, of Wills Point,Texas; her grandchildren, Nikki Hutson, Lauren Hutson and AshleyRohmer; and her great-grandchildren, Avery Bliss Rohmer and JettDawsen Rohmer.
