Services for Jessie Mae Hodges Friend of Brookhaven are 10 a.m.,Thursday, Aug. 16, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inNew Sight Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Friend, 81, died Aug. 14, 2001, at Silver Cross NursingHome. She was born in Lincoln County on June 3, 1920, to JessieCallender and Eulla Lupo Callender.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Sight BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, EdHodges; her second husband, Edward Friend; and her son, JoeHodges.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, George and VirginiaFriend of Midland, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Carol andHomer Brewer of Brookhaven; and seven grandchildren and ninegreat-grandchildren.
