Area citizens exemplified the giving spirit of the holidayseason during the recent Holiday Food Pantry Fund Drive sponsoredby The DAILY LEADER and the Bank of Brookhaven.

Thanks to your generosity, $6,500 in contributions were given bythe initial Dec. 15 deadline to benefit St. Francis of Assisi’s St.Vincent DePaul Ministries, Brookhaven Outreach Ministries and theUnion Hall Baptist Church Food Pantry. Givers’ kindness, though,did not stop at Dec. 15 as another $600 in donations came inearlier this week!

The funds have gone toward helping the three charitableorganizations help others this holiday season. The money will alsobe used to help the agencies continue to assist those in needthroughout the rest of the year.

The organizations are thankful for the assistance the funds willprovide and we appreciate you, our readers, for making this year’sdrive a major success.
