Services for Carolyn Jones, of Hazlehurst, were 1 p.m. Friday,June 10 at First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst with burial in ShadyGrove Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services was in charge ofarrangements.

Ms. Jones, 47, died June 7, 2005, at Hardy Wilson MemorialHospital.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Copiah County. Aftergraduating from Copiah Academy in 1976, she started working atHardy Wilson Hospital as an aid and ward clerk. She received herdegree in July 1979 and continued working at Hardy Wilson as aregistered nurse where she was the emergency room head nurse from1988-2000. In 2001 she moved to the medical records departmentafter being diagnosed with breast cancer. She continued to workuntil a month before her death. Ms. Jones was loved and respectedby all the doctors and nurses at Hardy Wilson Hospital. She was amember of First Baptist Church Hazlehurst and attended Shady GroveBaptist Church.

Survivors are her father, Karl Jones and his wife, Nancy, ofKosciusko; her mother, Edwina McRee and her husband, Carnell, ofHazlehurst; her sister, Pamela Sue Carroll, of Brookhaven; a niece,nephew, great niece and great nephew.
