Funeral services for Curtis Clinton Greer of Bogue Chitto are 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at Topisaw Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Greer, 65, died Aug. 6, 2013 at his home. He was born on Nov. 17, 1947 to Curtis J. Greer and Mary Lee Brister Greer.
He attended Enterprise High School and worked as a boilermaker/welder at James Construction. He was a member of Topisaw Baptist Church. Mr. Greer served in the U.S. Army, fighting in Vietnam from 1968-1969. He served in Long Mai and received two bronze stars, Vietnam service medal and National Defense Medal. He was a hunter and fisherman. He also loved spending time with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Alvita Greer; and baby brother.
Survivors are his wife, “Polly” Smith Greer; daughters, Tasha Anderson and husband, David, and Angie Greer; brothers, Hilton Greer and wife, Lavern, and James Pedro Greer and wife, Lisa; sister, Marilyn Nations and husband, Robert; six grandchildren, Matthew Greer, Jordan King, Courtney King, Andrew Greer, Madelyn McKorkle and Julian Anderson; uncle, W.C. Brister and wife, Maggie Jo; and aunt, Emma Grace Goodard and husband, James.
