A Wesson businesswoman was recovering at a Jackson hospitaltoday following a Sunday morning accident near Crystal Springs, herhusband said.

Nena Smith, who owns and operates the Nena Smith School of Dancein Wesson, was in the intensive care unit at the University ofMississippi Medical Center, but doctors were hoping she could betransferred to a regular room later today, Bradley Smith said.

“She’s doing OK,” he said. “The doctors are pleased with theprogress she’s made.”

The accident happened Sunday south of Crystal Springs onInterstate 55. Bradley Smith said his wife had gone to a friend’schurch in Crystal Springs.

Nena Smith was taken to Hardy-Wilson hospital in Hazlehurst andthen transferred to UMC. Additional information on the accident wasunavailable from the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Nena Smith School of Dance was recognized last year as theBusiness of the Year by the Wesson Chamber of Commerce.
