Edwanna Schwem Decell, 84, a native of Brookhaven, a previousresident of Patterson, and a current resident of Maison Jardin inMorgan City, died on Monday, May 17, 2010, at the West JeffersonHospital in New Orleans.

Visitation was observed on Wednesday, May 19, from 9 a.m. untiltime of services at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, May 19 at 11 a.m.at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson, with Father Danny Pocheofficiating. Burial will follow in Ibert’s Memorial ParkCemetery.

Mrs. Edwanna is survived by her husband, William Decell, ofPatterson; her sons, William Daniel Decell and his wife, Sherry, ofAtlanta, Ga., and Michael Decell of Gulfport; her daughters, DebraAdams and her husband, Jerry, of Patterson, Susan Buese and herhusband, Mark, of New Orleans, and Lisa Kilcrease and her husband,Steve, of Houston, Texas.; her sister, Marie Lovitt of Jackson; and10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Schwem; her mother,Gussie Reese Schwem; her sister, Lorraine Shell; and her grandson,Joseph Decell.

Mrs. Decell was a member of the AARP in Morgan City.

Arrangements were entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Patterson,La.
