Services for Charles Hugh Newell of Wesson are 10 a.m.,Saturday, Feb. 9, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inPleasant Hill Cemetery at Union Church.

Visitation is today from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Newell, 86, died Feb. 7, 2002, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Franklin County on Jan. 22, 1916, to GreenBerry Newell and Elsie Cordelia Lee Newell.

He was an oilfield worker. He was a member of Pleasant HillBaptist Church. He was an Army veteran of WWII, and anex-P.O.W.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, DorothyNell Newell.

Survivors are his sons, Charles Wayne Newell of Wesson, WillieHugh Newell of Petal, and Jesse Ray Newell of Pleasant Hill; hisdaughter, Dorothy Faye Harper of Picayune; his brother, DavidNewell of Jackson; and eight grandchildren and fivegreat-great-grandchildren.
