Services for Louise Eugenia Leggett of Crystal Springs are 10a.m., Monday, April 5, at St. John’s Catholic Church with burial inCrystal Springs cemetery. Stringer Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church, withblessings at 7:15 p.m.

Mrs. Leggett, 87, died April 2, 2004, at Hardy Wilson MemorialHospital in Hazlehurst.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, a brother anda sister.

Survivors are her sisters Marie Bolis, Janne Papizan and EmmaBolis, all of Crystal Springs.

Thomas ‘Toby’ Victor Moss

Services for Thomas “Toby” Victor Moss of Crystal Springs were11 a.m. Friday, April 2, at Crystal Springs United Methodist Churchwith burial in County Line cemetery. Stringer Funeral Home was incharge of arrangements.

Mr. Moss, 84, died March 31, 2004, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. He was born in Kosciusko.

He was a welder for 40 years and a HVAC technician with UnionLocal 681.

Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Marie Johnson Moss; his son,Mike Moss Sr. and his wife Barbara Gay; his grandsons, Michael MossJr. and his wife Donna, and Michael T. Moss; his sisters, NormaSobieski, of Mobile, Ala., and Avy Nell McCabe, of California; histwo great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

George ‘G.W.’ Smith Jr.

Services for George “G.W.” Smith Jr. of Baton Rouge were noon,Thursday, March 18, at Greenoaks Funeral Home chapel with burial inGreenoaks Memorial Park.

Mr. Smith, 79, died Monday, March 15, 2004, at Our Lady of theLake Regional Medical Center. He was born in Brookhaven to GeorgeW. and Lavada B. Smith.

He was a retired boilermaker. He was a member of Forest RoadBaptist Church and American Legion Nicholson Post 38. He served inWorld War II and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother Aubrey L.Smith, his sister Pauline S. Rollins, and his son-in-law Gary R.Gregory.

Survivors are his wife of 58 years Andree Amaz Smith; his sonand his wife Jayson and Judy Smith, of Pine Grove, La.; hisdaughter and her husband Marie and Danny Huggins, of Santuck, Ala.,and his daughter Peggy Gregory, of Baton Rouge; his three sisters,Sybil Smith, Ann Smith and Maxine Calcote, all of Baton Rouge; hisseven grandchildren; and his six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Saint Jude Children’s ResearchHospital.

Vonece Nelson Thames

Services for Vonece Nelson Thames of Monticello are 2 p.m.,Sunday, April 4, at New Hope Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Thames, 74, died April 3, 2004, at Lawrence County NursingHome. She was born on July 30, 1929, to Dewitt Nelson and OttisBallard Nelson.

She was a member of the selective service. She was a member ofNew Hope Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. Shewas a member of the Topeka Parent-Teacher Association.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Paul Thames; her son, Joel Thames ofMonticello; her daughter, Paula Thames Smith of Brookhaven; herbrothers, Thomas P. Nelson of Brandon and Denver L. Nelson ofPrentiss; and her five grandchildren.
