Funeral services for Darden Edward Wilbert,of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Friday, July 22, at Avery Chapel A.M.EChurch in Brookhaven with burial in Carver Heights Cemetery inBrookhaven.

    Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

    Mr. Wilbert, 94, died July 15, 2011, at Haven Hall Nursing Center.He was born in Franklin County on August 14, 1916, to Darden andOmie Rancifer Wilbert

    He was retired and a member of Avery Chapel A.M.E. Church.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Alberta BuieWilbert; his daughters, Dorothy Johnson and Evelyn Banks; his sons,Billy Wilbert and Kenneth Wilbert.

    Survivors are his daughter, Mary Grayer, of Brookhaven; his sons,Edward Wilbert, of Nashville, Tenn., Van L. Wilbert, of Jackson,Marvin Wilbert, of Waco, Texas, and Robert Wilbert, of Brookhaven;his devoted niece, Angelena Martin, of Brookhaven; 32grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; 17great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and otherrelatives.
