BOGUE CHITTO – The Loyd Star Lady Hornets exploded for nine runsin the top of the ninth to beat Bogue Chitto’s Lady ‘Cats 17-8Thursday in a fastpitch softball game.

The Lady Hornets (10-3, 5-0), coached by Jan Delaughter, resumeplay April 4, meeting Enterprise at the Sports Complex.

“I was proud of the way our girls came back,” said Delaughter.”They fought back and won the game.”

Melissa Brill struck out 3 batters and walked 6, giving up 11hits. Edwards started for Bogue Chitto, striking out 2 and walking2. Meleah Brown replaced Edwards in the sixth. Brown fanned 2batters and walked 2.

Loyd Star collected 17 hits, led by centerfielder JamakiaHenderson who singled, doubled and homered. Brill singled twice anddoubled. First baseman Ashton Williams and third baseman NikkiHunsucker singled and doubled.

Shortstop Amber Restivo had 3 hits for Loyd Star. Jordan Brittcollected 2 singles. Whitney Hedgepeth tripled. Krystal Connsingled.

Bogue Chitto was led by Randi Moak, Brennan Wallace and TashaJordan and Brown with 2 hits apiece. The Lady ‘Cats gained an 8-8deadlock in the bottom of the seventh.
