NEW SIGHT — A trailer fire was extinguished quickly with no-one injured in the New Sight community Saturday night. Damage appeared to be limited to the ceiling and roof of the home. 

The fire occurred on Old St John Road between New Sight Drive and US51. New Sight Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the call around 7:10 p.m. Saturday and arrived on scene in a few minutes. Heucks Retreat Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the call. 

On scene, there were visible flames coming from the roof of the home. Firefighters were able to suppress the fire and worked in the interior of the trailer to put out any hotspots left in the ceiling and roof. 

New Sight Volunteer Fire Department cleared the scene around 8:30 p.m. and returned to their annual Christmas Party.
