BOGUE CHITTO — A homeowner on Old US51 SE in Bogue Chitto extinguished flames at their back door Friday morning. Hog Chain, Heucks Retreat and Zetus Volunteer Fire Departments were en route to the call.

Hog Chain Chief John David Hart said the homeowner used a garden hose to put out the flames before the small fire got out of hand. Charred wood and a burned door could be seen on scene. 

Fire departments were dispatched around 11:10 a.m. Hart arrived on scene around 11:25 a.m. and reported light smoke showing. He inspected the home before clearing the scene shortly after 11:30 a.m.
