A little over a week ago a young man from Independence, Louisiana was able to have two of his last wishes fulfilled in southwest Mississippi. The 14-year-old is battling terminal cancer and was given a few days to live and perhaps a week if he was lucky.
The young man is still alive and fighting a week later. Kemp was diagnosed with Genetic Metastatic Melanoma two years ago.
According to Covey Rise Lodge in Husser, Louisiana, Ashton Kemp was able to be sworn in as a game warden for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and go on a duck hunt this past weekend.
Readers may recall Kemp was sworn in as a Mississippi game warden in Brookhaven last week. He was also able to kill his first buck, an Axis deer, at an enclosure near Union Church.
A GoFundMe is set up to help the family as they take care of Kemp and try to spend as much time with him as possible.
